Grant Boxing Interviews Roy Jones Jr.

GB: Roy you have done just about everything in boxing, what's left?

RJJ: Well I tell you I'm going to take care of business with Tito and after what I saw the other day with Samuel Peter I think I might come up and give the heavyweight division another shot!

GB: Who were the three greatest fighters of all time and your personal favorites?

RJJ: Muhammad Ali, Salvador Sanchez and Sugar Ray Robinson.

GB: What is a typical training day for you?

RJJ: It depends, I never really do the same routine everyday. I run early in the morning, I will box some days about four to six rounds and hit the mitts, and the double end and speed bags. I like to mix my workouts up and work on different things.

GB: Champ, thanks for your time.

RJJ: My pleasure, Elvis.

Grant Boxing Interviews Jose Sulaiman

GB: Jose, you have been president of the WBC for thirty-two years December 5, 1975 to be exact how has boxing changed since you began your presidency?

JS: It has changed dramatically. Boxing was once a legalized violent sport, today it is a sport of safety. In the old days champions could run from their mandatory challenger or #1 contender for years, the boxers were forced to make inhuman weight reductions, there were many mismatches, there were no drug tests or concern for the safety of the boxers. During my term all of that has completely changed.

GB: What are some of your proudest accomplishments?

JS: Well there are many our victory over "Apartheid" giant steps for the safety of the boxers, the 12 round rule, weigh in's 24 hours before the bouts, attached thumb gloves, pension plan for retired boxers, the addition of other weight divisions to prevent the boxers from making inhuman sacrifices to make weight division, the permanent research lab at UCLA medical, and countless others.

GB: Who are your all time favorite boxers?

JS: John L. Sullivan, Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, and Muhammad Ali.

GB: What are some of the greatest fights you ever witnessed in person?

JS: Ali-Frazier 1 and 3 as well as Leonard-Duran 1, Hagler-Hearns, Leonard-Hearns 1, Holmes-Norton, Sanchez-Gomez.

GB: Who in your opinion are the three greatest fighters to ever come out of your home country of Mexico?

JS: Julio Cesar Chavez, Ruben Olivares and without question Salvador Sanchez. Raton Macias was also a legend.

GB: What makes you most happy these days?

JS: The greatest feeling for me is when the former and current champions come and say "hi" to me and show love and respect, that is my pay.

GB: Thank you for sharing with us your amazing life in boxing.

JS: My pleasure, thank you.
